Emporia, Father's Day and KDO

We traveled last Saturday afternoon to Emporia to spend time with my mom and dad for Father's Day. We started out at my mom's store, Second Love Gifts, where Luke scored big with a new Thomas sign for his room, Muddy Thomas and a wind up train. Life is hard when grandma and papa have a gift store. That evening, we went to dinner at the Chicken House. Chase and Emily were there visiting too so they joined us. Luke loved hanging with his cousins. He especially loved having them take him around the house and show him things. I heard a lot of "Emily back, Emily back".

On Sunday, we ate breakfast at McDonald's with the gang. It was fun until after when my mom got sick and we had to take her to the hospital. She was diagnosed with pancreatitis which seems to be a Koch family tradition. My dad had it about three years ago and my little sister Betsy had it in college. The good part is that my mom is home now and doing well! Thank you God for making everything happen the way it did and for taking care of her! Of course, we almost forgot it was Father's Day with all the happenings! I am so grateful to have the best dad, have a husband that is a great daddy to Luke and awesome father in law. Love them all!

This week seems to fly by as I am preparing for my week long trip next week to Indianapolis for sorority convention. Luke will be headed all over the place so it should be an interesting week next week! Today was Kids Day Out and Luke had a first. He actually took a nap today. Daddy joined us this morning for the drop off so he could learn the ropes for next week. Luke loves going and I am so thankful for that! Here is a note from his teachers this week -

Today was another great day in KDO! The theme today was Wild West. Our little cowboys and cowgirls dressed up in colorful bandannas and colored their own sheriff's badges. After some more indoor play, we headed out to the courtyard for some fresh air. Next we had a nice lunch inside where we got to cool down from the heat inside. While most slept, our few non-sleepy cowpokes headed upstairs for a fun puppet show put on by stone Lion Puppet Shows entitled a Starry, Starry Night! Have a wonderful rest of the week and see you on June 30th! Your teachers, James, Adrienne & and Laura

Lastly - Happy Birthday to Grandma Marge today! Hope you enjoy all the random pictures.

And another pic with his favorite sign!

Very proud! He can't wait to hang it in his big boy room!

Smiles!
